The French top-flight match between Amiens and Lille was abandoned after a barrier collapsed at the front of a stand containing away supporters.
AFP news agency reports 18 fans were hurt – three seriously – at the 12,000-capacity Stade de la Licorne.
The match was abandoned and the stadium evacuated after a security meeting, according to a tweet from hosts Amiens.
The collapse occurred in the 16th minute as visiting fans celebrated Fode Ballo-Toure scoring the first goal.
Dozens of fans tumbled onto the pitch as the fence gave way.
The match is seen a local derby, with about 60 miles separating the two sides.
